Kari Wolf

With a soulful voice, heartfelt lyrics, and a fearless authenticity, Kari Wolf has become a standout presence in the Key West music scene. Her journey—from the Midwest to the tropics—has shaped a musical style rooted in resilience, honesty, and connection. Kari’s music carries both strength and vulnerability, offering comfort, joy, and a sense of community to everyone who listens.

🎶 Collaborations & Career Highlights

Kari’s early career included a seven-year national tour with The Clyde Stubblefield Show, led by the legendary drummer of James Brown’s band. Along the way, she has shared stages and lineups with acclaimed musicians throughout the Midwest and Key West, performing in everything from intimate listening rooms to bustling island venues. In Key West, Kari has become a staple at major music hubs like Sunset Pier, La Te Da, and Sloppy Joe’s, and has been featured in The Soul of Key West project. Her ability to connect through both original music and heartfelt covers has made her one of the most respected performers in the island’s tight-knit music community.

Kari’s story in Key West led to love: she met fellow musician Jack Wolf at Grateful Guitar, and the two eventually married in August 2021—Jack popping the question onstage at Sloppy Joe’s with friend Pete Jarvis’s help. Together, they form the Wolf Love Band and wow audiences were their on and off stage connection.

🎸 Origins & Musical Roots

Born in Iowa and raised in suburban Chicago before spending her formative teen years in Madison, Wisconsin, Kari Wolf developed a deep love for music early on. Self-taught on guitar, she honed her craft through library visits and Guitar World lessons. By 19, she was performing locally and crossed paths with James Brown’s iconic drummer, Clyde Stubblefield—who mentored her and later invited her to join the Clyde Stubblefield Show, touring nationally for seven years

🏝️ Journey to Key West

In 2013, tired of cold winters, Kari headed south—first to Orlando, then Key West, where she fell in love with the island’s vibrant scene. Encouraged by fellow musicians, she embraced a full-time music career in Key West, believing “If you’re going to struggle, you might as well be doing what you love”.

Kari embraces a philosophy of collaboration and mutual support—viewing Key West’s music community as a family rather than competition. Inspired by her mentor Clyde and fueled by gratitude for her journey, she performs with authenticity and openness, sharing not just songs but connection with her audience .

🎤Style & Performance

Kari’s performances are heartfelt, authentic, and full of soul. She blends Americana, blues, rock, and pop into a signature set that resonates deeply—so much so that after Hurricane Irma, locals called her “music…our medicine,” underscoring the powerful role her music plays in the community . When not headlining at Sunset Pier, she plays regularly at Rick’s Downstairs, RockHouse, Irish Kevin’s, and La Te Da
